Are You Allergic To Your Loved Ones?

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

Have you ever wondered if you’re allergic to someone you’re close to?

Well, you’re not. However, you might be allergic to something that special someone is eating or drinking. You could also be reacting to a medication he or she is taking.

Check out this detailed usnews article on the matter:

http://health.usnews.com/health-news/family-health/allergy-and-asthma/articles/2010/11/14/when-romance-and-allergies-dont-mix.html

While such reactions are rare, it would be a shame to have to shackle your intimacy due a mysterious allergy. So, find out what you’re allergic to. Then, have a conversation with your loved one asking them to avoid the offending agents before you’re smooch, hug or even hold hands.

Allergy Solutions, providing long-term allergy relief….and helping you improve your love life.

 To great health!

Keeping Allergies At Bay During The Holidays

Tuesday, October 26th, 2010

The Holidays are fast approaching. Here are some tips to help you keep your allergies under control this holiday season.

Inform your host, relatives or friends ahead of the feast about any allergy or asthma triggers you may have, such as triggers to tobacco smoke or wood burning fireplace so they are aware well ahead of time before your arrival.

Keep the home smoke free.

Change the furnace filter.

Install a HEPA filter vacuum bag and vacuum all carpeting thoroughly.

If having guests staying overnight, keep pets out of the room and wash all linens and pillows in hot water.

If possible place a HEPA air cleaner in guest room prior to arrivals.

Get ready for holiday travel. If traveling by plane keep all needed medications in a carry-on bag kept with you on the plane. If the trigger is dust mites, carry a allergen proof cover for pillow.

Avoid allergens in the Thanksgiving turkey like soy or wheat by purchasing a natural turkey, they are minimally processed and just packed in water. Thanksgiving side dishess such as stuffing can also have allergens so check the labels. Pack safe snacks for children who have allergies.

One of the main ways to keep allergies and asthma at bay is to know what triggers the attacks. Allergy Solutions Clinic can help you identify triggers and maximize holiday joy.
